What Custom Cabinets Cost in Toronto
Most cabinet shops won’t talk numbers until they’ve been to your house. We’d rather you know what to expect before you call. Here’s how our pricing works, what’s included, and what typical projects come to — and if you want a number for your own kitchen right now, the instant estimate takes two minutes.
Small one-wall kitchen
$4,500 – $11,000
About 12 ft of cabinets, 8 ft ceilings. The low end is white melamine; the high end is stained wood.
L-shaped kitchen with island
$11,000 – $27,000
About 22 ft of wall cabinets plus a 7 ft island. The most common kitchen we build, and prefinished lands in the middle of that range.
Large U-shaped kitchen
$17,000 – $41,000
About 32 ft of cabinets to a 9 ft ceiling, with an 8 ft island. Painted and stained fill the top half of the range.
Cabinetry only, before HST. Countertops, appliances, plumbing, electrical, delivery and installation are separate. These are typical figures from our estimator; your firm quote comes after a site measure.
The four finishes, from least to most
White melamine. Our budget option and the standard for closets. Flat white doors, the same Blum and Salice hardware as everything else, built to your walls. White only.
Prefinished. The best value in the shop. Textured melamine, Egger decors or premium Egger, Finsa and AGT panels — wood grains, matte colours, super-matte — with flat slab doors. Most of our kitchens are prefinished, often with white uppers and wood-look lowers.
Painted. Any colour you like, sprayed smooth in our booth, on shaker or slab doors. Roughly a third more than prefinished; the difference is finishing labour.
Stained. Real wood — white oak, walnut and other species — stained and sealed. The top of our range because the material and the hand finishing cost the most.
What’s included at every price
- A free in-home measure and design consultation, with your quote within 48 hours (business days)
- Blum and Salice soft-close hinges and drawer slides throughout
- 3/4″ melamine interiors and hard rock melamine drawer boxes
- One three-drawer cabinet in every kitchen
- An under-cabinet light channel in every run of uppers (we supply the channel; lighting by others)
- A pull-out garbage cabinet beside the sink
- Drawn in AutoCAD, cut on our Thermwood CNC, assembled and labelled in our Scarborough shop
What moves the price
Finish is the biggest lever — the same kitchen can double from melamine to stained. Drawers cost more than doors, so an all-drawer kitchen runs higher. Islands are a little more per foot than wall runs because they’re finished on every side. Ceilings above 8 ft add height to the uppers and are charged for the extra. Appliances, sinks and countertops don’t change the cabinetry price, but they do change how the kitchen is laid out.
What’s not included
Delivery and installation are quoted separately once we’ve seen the site. Countertops, sinks, plumbing, electrical and appliances are by others. Lighting is by others; we supply the channel it drops into.
Deposit, schedule, delivery and warranty are all laid out on How we work.
